Taxes hurt the market for boat designers, so I think it is relevant.

When buyers are punished for buying, they tend to keep their money in their wallets.

    News from Concordia.

(AGI) - Roma, 4 feb.

(AGI) - Rome, February 4 - Night of fear for the 262 passengers and 53 crew members of Tirrenia vessel "Sharden", departing from Civitavecchia to Olbia and direct, that shortly before midnight has struck against a tooth of the outer breakwater of the harbor, at the green light. The impact caused a hole of about 30 meters above the waterline, but the immediate attention of the local coastguard, who coordinated the operation of two tugs, has permission to drive the ship at the dock and put it in safety. A providential intervention for an accident that many - especially the passengers - brought back to mind the tragedy of Concord island of Giglio. No harm to the passengers were disembarked with a catwalk: 50 of them, those who were traveling without a car, were boarded at the dawn of another ferry of the same company, the "Scintu", and will arrive in Olbia in the morning.
Supplement to wait instead for the other 212, with the following media: they too are already 'on a second ferry of pise, the "Nomentana", but still' in port waiting for the "Sharden", once moved and open the tailgate, are downloaded cars and trucks, which will then be loaded on the "Nomentana". Yet to determine the cause of the accident, but it seems likely that a decisive role was played by adverse weather conditions, particularly wind that was blowing at the time of impact with gusts over 30 knots. .

I was taking a photo of the sunrise at Civitavecchia last November and noticed that the Sharden was in port at that time.

In what wind and sea conditions do they close the port ? Locally, at force 8 they shut down. To difficult for the ships to manuver in the harbor. To difficult for the Pilot boats.
