The finishing and last bits are always the parts that take the longest to finish and make a nice job . can spend hours and hours just doing the finishing when its just a one or 2 day job to do the actual repair .
You guys will be the local boat repaires from now on !!

Returning the boat to its original condition was little problematic, more challenging than I thought, but frankly speaking I DID ENJOY VERY MUCH SEEING IT A LIFE AGAIN.

Finally the repair is done, yesterday I towed the boat to the marina and put it in water for the first time, It was Okay, no leakages, I drove it for 20 minutes, it was okay, but due to strong wind I could not test it properly, also unfortunately no pictures were taken, I will do another test in few days and take pictures and video and will post it on the site
I am very much grateful for the expertise help i got from this site and by name from the member TUNNELS

As promised, today i tested the boat again for 1 hour, it was Ok, see attached pictures in the water
Also the video for me and my driver
We did not come out empty handed, we caught a nice grouper for dinner

Fantastic !! nice fish and beautiful sea !! Oh how much i MISS THE SEA and salt water again !! Going back to New Zealand in a few weeks just only for a short time but will make a special trip to my favorite beach i miss so so much . Good luck and hope all will stay 100% ok . The extra weight will be a good thing and with a 225 hp motor probaly wont even notice the differance of the extra weight .

I have a porblrm with my Garmin fishfinder, i always jig the transom transducer to "Shoot through hull instalation", now after the repair, it is not reading even if boat is not moving
Anyone have an idea

My only suggeston is to mount it ouside the transom or make a place in the bottom af the hull where you can mount it inside outoutside . How much spare cable is there with the unit ??

What i have done in the past is get the sender unit and wrap it with pacaging tape all over about 6 layers also the cable for about a foot where the plug is at the other end find a piece of pvc tube tha is a little larger thatn the plug and tape it to the unit so it to can be mounded over then wax it well and simply fiberglass it with a couple of layers of chopped strand matt !. Leave it to go hard and then demould it carefully take everything out and give it a good sand to smooth it inside and out The use a hole saw and drill a hole in the bottlm of the boat and mount the new piece in the hole and glass it really well inside the hull Dress up the outside and there you have a mount for you sender use flexable sealler to seal the sender when you fit it back into the sender mount and where the cable comes out fill it with sealler so the water cant come in round the cable . Ive done a few of theses on differant boats and the senders work really well because theres nothing at all cavering the transducer . Just make sure the transducer is not flush but 2 or 3 mm recessed up when you mount it before you glass it from the inside . It just so anthing sliding along the bottom of the hull wont hit the transducer and dammage it . of course check its mounter dead vertical .
Make the glassing spread a good 4 to 6 inchs all round the transducer mount and gel coat it when you finished . Sounds like a lot of work but its well worth the effort . the deepth sounder will work better than it ever worked before !!

Hi everyone
I finally got the transducer to work, it seem that it need some time to relearn the new position in the boat, now it can show depth
I took a electronics technician with me and went to test the Garmin and reached to this conclusion
We did not spare the opportunity to catch this Grouper.

 

So the fishing is good and transducer works !! everything else is ok ??
