Its preferable at sea to have abit of weight also the boats you are comparing me with a mono hulls and not apples with apples,

heres a couple problems with the Tinnys, hard rideing and unstable, most likely a wet ride,
noisy, cold to touch, easily damage, no flat deck, low sides,
cant use them in flood get electrocuted,
The cat can handle the surf, wouldnt go near it in that tinny boat,

i was building alloy boats and the cat we made was similar weight out of 2mm alloy, out of 3mm it was heavier,

Its a good weight and can make it a little lighter possibly if required, need to catch up on technology, it alredy goes well and are very happy with its performance, all the people I have let test drive it owned tinnies before and all were very impressed and liked it very much,

Cats are good , but i have seen big cats go over/upside down in bars and thats a rescue boat of good size with qualified personnel onboard, bars can be tricky for all types of boats.

I use to surf alot and then got into jetski riding of surf, also have spent alot of time using the surf rescue inflatables, crossed alot of bars mainly Port waikato bar and straight off West coast beachs owned tinnies and fiberglass boats and inflatables bosten whaler, by far the cat set up right is the best to cut up the white waters as one hull can still bite while other is climbing the broken water, until this day have yet to find a more manouverable and sea handling capable boat than what this is,
I do know that with a bit of bad luck or put in the wrong hands any boat or water way is dangerous,

I too use to use the rescue rubber ducks and had a lot of fun, they seemed to be well suited to surf conditions and still are. Bars are certainly places that are not kind to the novice and rarely give 2 chances.

those rubber ducks are ery uncomfortable and lack room, i use to go out on a 3m off shore wind for a test run and the clubbys would do there best to try and catch up to me to tell me i shouldnt be out there, but they couldnt get through as easy as the cat can,

I've abused my aluminum boats to no end and have yet to destroy one. Not taking away from your boat, but I don't agree with this point.

2 x 15hp Electric motors in each hull,

Had a good meeting today and looks like we will have next week a seahull boat set up with twin electric motors and surface drives and lithium batterys, it adds aprox 90kg each hull thats motor and batterys, its already been set up in another boat so its a matter of transfering it over, sold two this week both karaka Green,
will pump these out first thing next week, will also try a bit less shot weight and see how it comes out will try 180kg,
anyway its good news generally that we were recognised to be the best boat for this project, ;)

I saw a show with Motor bikes running Lithium battery's and they absolutely screamed..as quick as petrol, Don't no how long they got out of a single charge.
