    Revealing history

    Yobarnacle,
great bit of info there,so we can presume that many of the original US brick houses were built of English clay bricks.
We were taught at college that brick buildings stand the expansion of the changes in the weather, plus,if built correctly, the ravages of time.Modern brick house construction,in my opinion is second to none,if the foundations are deep and wide enough, and far enough out of the ground before the dampcourse with good insulation they are superior to panelled or sheeted properties.
I have built houses where expense wasnt a problem, they were not over expensive, just built without money grabbing in mind.I found it a pleasure to build them, and nice to say to myself "I built that"
I can revisit my "Works of art"just by getting in my car and driving by them.
To me,they are my personal monuments to history, plus the fact that I have provided shelter for for my fellow man for years to come.Quite a satifying feeling really.
    Happy new year.

??? Police are Ok no trouble with them at al.l Electricity is 220V and is continuous ( what more do you want) post is faultless if you have a post code and a proper adddress I hear this complaint many times from people who live out in the jungle and expect post.

banks are ubiquitous and professional with all the services you would expect and very cheap for international TT or banker drafts.

Fishing is not good in the Gulf because it is in the gulf!!! fish are there. Tsunamis do not bother the gulf-- can it?

Mind you ive only lived here 23 years.

    Yellow snow

    Never eat yellow snow.
Plenty of room for a population explosion I reckon, like water,it will always find its own level.
    Rhino's are like Politicians-thick skinned.
Food for thought-If the western world hadnt gone to Africa to milk it,and given the populace a fair shake, what do you think the situation would be now?Do as you would be done by springs to mind

Funny how ones sees thing differently but I don't like the police in Pattaya or Indonesia. We have a driver in Indonesia and if they pull him over they always want money and he's funny because he will argue with them and they let us go but he does'nt let us talk at all. He aways says, "1 word of English will cost you," and our house being near Ahmed is 4 hrs from the Denpasar Airport. The people are good, food is great and weather more to my liking than Pattaya. And the electricity is just the same, maybe yes, maybe no/

    Yobarnacle,
It would be an honour to build you a row of "S/it houses"but have you considered getting a pre-pack from 1600 pensylvania avenue. If you have any difficulty they have more than enough at 10 Downing st,they are all supplied with a pre-pack smell, but you will need your own gas mask unfortunately Haha

Well, a privy would be a luxury! I'm redneck thru and thru, not counting part redskin too. You can tell if a redneck is considering moving. He starts crappin closer to the house.
