Test drive aluminium speedboat and question

    Hi,

    I designed an aluminium speedboat and built it with a friend of mine. Last weekend we made a testdrive and this went very wel.

    I have a question: Besides the testdrive showed good handling and speed there is a lot of fast water spray coming out under the chines especially when turning.

    Would it improve performance (speed) and decrease spray to add 1 or 2 sprayrails on each side of the bottom in order to break this spray earlier?

    No you need actual lifting strakes ,not splash rails. They spray is the hull cutting the water in half with more strakes it will be diverted to them and more lift,they should run forward to the stem.......

    Sry, i mean lifting strakes. Do you think diverting the spray earlier reduces drag?
