26 foot silverton single screw,are there any rudder changes tha t might make it steer a little better in reverse? the one thats on the boat is about 9 by 11 inches thanks

If that's the hull I'm thinking it is, then rudder modifications will make only very slight improvements in reverse handling properties. How much single wheel experience do you have?

 

Make sure your propeller is properly conditioned . Props are very inefficient in reverse, even worse when out of condition. An inefficient prop exaggerates prop walk

 

not much in the single experience always had out drives or out boarbs

 

Well, there you go. Bcclew, you need some time with the old gal. There are tricks and techniques that can make you live much easier. The fastest way to learn is to have an old single screw skipper give you some beer earning time, as you back and maneuver around in a secluded location (to save embarrassment). With practice, the single screw can become more tolerable, once you understand what she will and can't do.
