Angélique aka Angel (only by name)

[IMG] This is a back-up system for a 35' Dragonfly Swing Wing folding Tri. If anyone wants to support the beams maybe you could use it too, or maybe a cross...

    More info here...

    Cheers,

Since this is the Buccaneer 24 trimaran thread, I have to say I have only one set of B24 plans left.
I will not be producing any more unless I get enough interest to assemble five sets.
That seems most unlikely, so if anyone is still interested, grab this last set.
US$160.00 shipped worldwide. AUD$150.00 in Aus.

    Mast question!

We've just weathered a hurricane in my area and there seems now to be an abundance of used sailboat masts available for cheap. Have any of you given any thought as to what size stick would be appropriate for the Buc 24?

I'm sorry Mike. I can't help you with this. I used the spec tube shown in the plans with the sail track riveted on.
I think Bruce may be able to advise you, as he has a pear shaped mast on his Bucc.

Now that the US$ and AU$ are at par the price of this very last set of Buccaneer 24 plans is $150.00 shipped worldwide.

    buc mast

Ocean, my mast is a rotating 36' section- about 3.25" x 6.25" and around 1.6 lbs a foot, designed for a multihull. I have an older alloy roller furler and wire rigging so the total weight aloft is around 85 lbs. The Buc handles it fine. B

How many sheets of 8 X 4 marine ply does it take to build a Buccaneer?

My children and grandchildren live in the Canary Islands.

Would it be reasonable to sail her from Edinburgh to Paris,
and then down through France into the Med,
and then down the African coast to the Canaries

    What about tacking to windward?
