    Hi All,
The new boat has arrived, But i'm not happy, (1st) with the over night canopy that they have made (Haines) to replace the one that l had on my old 157, the quauilty of the finish is not good at all, instead of folding under the cut raw edges around the clears they they have just left them exposed so in time they will fray
(2nd) the time that it takes to pull down and put up well thats some thing else try,15 mins, compared to my old one 4 min.
(3rd)The gauges on the dash don't line up, the two gauges on the LHS of the dash (fuel & speed gauge) are about 7 mm higher than the taco & trim gauges on the RHS not sure why that is, their must be a reason
(4th)not sure where they have got some of the wiring loom from, it's been used on some thing else before, and the only reason that l noticed it was that it is hanging down, upon closer inspection, it looks like that they have just cut some thing of the end, and used it hoping that l would not notice it, l don't know.
The new boat is a Haines 493 F acclaim, And yes it dose go very well on the water, Beleave it or not No Porporcing at all l also had the opertunity to put a new motor on, At my cost, so, l up grade it to the biggest motor l could, New Motor Mercury OPTY-Max 90 HP.
l have tried to talk to Haines about these things, but their response it, we have spent enough time and money on this, and we will not be doing any thing else for you. end of stories.

Shame,--they got so close to satisfying you then cut corners and let the apprentice fit the guages at the end. There is no reason for this pettines but cheap management cutting a few pence of the finished product. I find this a common Aussie thing to be honest.

Yeah it'lle be alright mate, no quality and not much exports either inless they stop this attitude.

They sell you a shitty boat in the first place and your supposed to accept anything now?

It takes no longer to fit the guages straight than to fit then crooked, just poor work and your suposed to be greatfull.
If a jobs worth doing its worth doing well. or--dont spoil the boat for a hafpenny of tar.

    Shame.

Well it doesnt porpiose so hes got to be greatfull. I like the bit about telling the customer not to come back because they spent enough.

How did they know he might come back .!!!

Terrible attitude,-- that to be honest was evident at first.

BUT you got a better boat AND the bits can be sorted with a couple of quid.

Tip,-- if you take one lense out of your sun glasses you will not notice the crooked guages.

Its still too much to ask of a 2 inch and a 1/8th guage.

You did know that they were 2 inch and 1/8th didnt you? You would have to have a real sloppy hole,---- and I dont want any jokes about that.

    Hi Tunnels,
Here the thing, the only reason that we are hear is because we had an issue with current boat, l gave them (3) choice, Fix the current boat , if you are unable to fix current boat, then replace current boat with new boat or give my money back, that was their only choice's.
l bet if rolls were reversed, then l bet, that you might be a bit p_ _ _ ed off after spending $35,000.00 + of your hard earned money and some drongo puts used parts in your new boat, and could not be bother to use a small level to make a strait line.

Haines used their contractor to make my new canopy, they tell me he make all their canopy, it cost them the same amount of $ from their contractor, as it did from my contractor, Well that's what they tell me.

    Regards
    Wheelybin.

    PayCheck Root Cause

I feel your pain Wheelybin, as the dealer was obviously not interested in a delivering a quality product and more interested in making a quick buck.

I suggest you put this behind you and make the boat the way you want it - over time you may find a dealer who loves boats too.
