Engine Hours (volvo) how do we know

    it won't be far off, we put one in a 21 ft glass boat and it uses almost nothing at speeds up to 23 knots.

    Ok! that figure must be in the ballpark then. you would think with that sort of economy, you surly could not be loading the motor much at all.

    While on the subject of the volvo motor, I realise this is a slight deviation from the initial question. I plan to re-paint the motor after removing all the the rust, I want to repaint it with a 2K epoxy paint. I figure that because of the raw water system, temperatures in the engine bay would be nothing like that they are in a car/truck motor. there would be no use to use high temp engine enamel, were an epoxy in the marine environment is so much better. the added bonus is that I already have the paint.
