Triloboats

    What are your thoughts on the Triloboat series of boats.
    They seem perfect for someone looking to build a a relatively cheap live aboard.
    The entire concept of using whole uncut sheets of plywood for build times from a week to 3 months does make sense from a construction speed standpoint if you're willing to let good enough be.

    They look like wooden house barges. I would like standing head room.
    Why the are the front and back different ?

    Not sure that it is too hard to cut a piece of plywood .

    The Triloboats look great but I doubt they are intended for ocean passagemaking. The designer/builder is in the Alaskan Panhandle archipelago, where shelter is almost always less than 20 miles away....which could be called semi-protected waters.

    If I was building a barge for ocean passages I would include some full bulkheads to minimize wracking.

    Plan on getting one of these to the Carib as deck cargo.

    If you get a NA. to draw up plans for a stich and glue power cat using ply sheets with devloped surfaces keeping hulls long and narrow light and low center of gravity you might have a boat that will work for you. Not cheap and not over night build.
