23' plywood sailboat on a budget - no glass?

    Aharon, the term one tonner has nothing to do with the weight of the boat,rather it was derived from a rating rule, a one tonner would probably displace more like 5-6 tons (just a guess)

    Thanks Steve, the little I know about boating I have learned here. "One Tonner" sounded reminiscent of the so called English cafe racer motorcycles: their motto was "do the ton", meaning, "going over a 100MPH". Why they were called "cafe racer" is also a pearl of pop culture.
