    wow nice site Angel
    thanks

I'm still looking but the more cash on hand I carry into the construction season the better off I am, so my best buying time is end of season once I know how I did and what I can afford to blow on a boat.

It was actually asking Google for pics of the Little Ships of Operation Dynamo, more info about them here and here.

    Cheers,

    Haida Princess

I was searching the web to locate the Haida Princess. Do I understand that you are the current owner?

If so, we are the the dentist's family who originally owned her in Canada.

Well I certainly purchased the boat but the dealer also signed papers with another purchaser who is presently in possession of the boat. So its kinda up in the air as to who owns her and what will happen with the seller

    but thanks for responding

ahh, so that hasn't been sorted out. We would be most interested in keeping apprised of her whereabouts, and hope you can do that for us. We were last in touch with Gary Nash of Portland.

ya its a mess and its going to take a while to straighten it all out. I'll probably not end up in possession of the boat, but selling the same boat to two different people just isn't the kind of thing that should fly in anybodies book

Hello! I was also interested in the Haida Princess and in fact made a couple of offers beginning about this time last year. The whole process (between the broker and the church that Gaary Nash "donated" it to was immensely frustrating and expensive with surveys and subsequent experts I brought in to assist in sizing up the project. The boat was a gem and the church that owned it couldn't care less about its fate and it was in dire need of work to save her. Ultimately, I gave up and made another offer on another boat which was accepted and moved on. Still, the Haida Princess remains on my mind and I have much information in terms of the scope of repairs needed and a current survey.

When I spoke with Jim Irwin (the broker), in September he said that he was prepared to take the engine out of Haida Princess and put her on the hard for salvage as he was tired of being involved. Later, I heard that someone in Colorado bought her with the intent to restore and while sad to see her leave, I was relieved that someone was going to rescue a wonderful old boat. It now sounds as if that all is up in the air?

crazy low price but he took the engine out and a few other goodies off of it as well, those lights he's talking about keeping are worth a fortune.

I've been following the Boneyard boats publications looking for free boats as well. I might just score one for the hardware but who knows, I might just end up forging some stuff as well.

Thanks for the suggest tho but even at $560 that $5000 moving fee is pretty scary, I could buy my entire woodpile for that.

Keep em coming tho cause ya never know what I might do in the end.

Yeah. I saw the engine, but missed that the port lights weren't included. One of these days I'm going to set up a small foundry to make those and retire on it. The prices they get are utterly ridiculous.

    Haida Princess

For what it's worth, about a week ago I took a walk through my marina (covered moorage in Portland, Oregon) and a few rows over from my boat I saw the Haida Princess. I took some pictures because I was so stunned to see her...
