    Hello Everyone,

I Am A Mechanical Engineering Student From Uni Of Derby Have A Keen Interest In Sail-boat Aerodynamics.in My Recent Projects,i Have Done A Flow Simulation And Fea Analysis On A Formula 1 Race Car's Rear Wing.i Have Managed To Design A Boat With A Sail In Solidworks.i Needed Help In Proceeding With The Analysis Though....i Originally Want To Have Results For Sail Aerodynamics And Hull Hydrodynamics....if That Make Its Bigger Then I Would Like To Omit The Hull Part And Just Concentrate On The Sails.....

Any Help Would Be Highly Appreciated

    Thank You

I'm a Solidworks user, too, but it sounds like you are way ahead of me.

Click my handle for my SW boat in my Gallery.

This SW forum is pretty jumping and I was getting multiple correct answers in Real Time.

SW has two main Factory Note Books, one for Modeling and one for Simulation.

I've got the Simulation one, but as I said I think you are beyond what if covers judging from your past projects.

I'll try to scan and post a few pages of the SW Simulation note book from Flow section and see if it could be helpful.

They give the books away free at sales presentations/free training.

Your local reseller should give you one for the asking.

I don't know how reliable the cfd analysis in SolidWorks really is.... Why dont you export your model as .iges or .sld part and then try to run the analyisis in StarCCM+, or Fluent? I think You will get more reliable results and it's always nice to learn to work in new software, if You have time.

I know this wasn't very helpful, it is only an idea.

    Best regards!
