The second one is Two Harbors in Minnesota on the north shore of Lake Superior.

I am not sure what they have in common, besides Lake Superior. I have been to both places. Split Rock is now a state park and is very busy with tourist each summer. Two Harbors is still an active commercial harbour. Iron ore from the mines in norther MN is shipped out there.

    Kudus to you COR.
You are right, one is the Split Rock lighthouse and the other Two harbours Lighthouse.
Both have the following in common; Lake Superior and situated in the same state Minnesota. I believe you erred first time naming Michigan.....

Lets have your teaser or who will be next.:)

"Grain belt" would imply Minnesota, so that's the Mississippi ......

    hoytedow, good job.

That is Minneapolis seen from the Mississippi river. A few years ago my wife and I put our old pontoon boat in the river in and headed south. We spent a month on the river and ended up in Tennesse. Great trip.

    Thanks, cor.

This river was partially straightened then partially unstraightened. Reason: Cold War. Why was it straightened? What role did it play in Cold War? SE state with a Michigan-New York accent.
