Mckay lost his way somewhere. "I had never even dreamt of building a boat," he says. Trained as an electrical engineer, he had held several different high tech, high paying positions which provided his family with a comfortable life and a beautiful home on Annabessacook Lake in Winthrop. To follow this dream would mean giving up all that. But he believed and continues to believe the project is the most important thing he and his family can be doing."

Raw Faith and her captain cost tax payer money a lot of $ by is arrogant and inept attitude to put at risk the life of the Coast Guard several time when in Rockland. For years the people try to help him, the Coast Guard save him several time when he tried to sail from, Rockland to Boston. Rockland gave him the mooring. Boston did the same until he took advantage of the good people and get asked to leave from the mooring.
To all the people who tried to help him, and the one who helped him, he never ever returned the favor. He is impossible to talk with. In front of the TV camera the man change attitude and give a pathetic sob story.
This man built a very dangerous boat, (I unfortunately saw the monstrosity) put at risk every body, and even wanted to sue the Cost Guard.
He is just a blood sucker of the society, he should pay back the million dollar he owe to the people who try to help him, and save him from himself and a certain death since the beginning.
No that not a Raw Faith, it is a Raw Scam. Started with a law suit he win and $80,000.

30 years ago a vessel named 'Light on Water" was built by an ignoramus. About 55 feet and based on a French pilot boat, she was rough ferro cement with little interior. The builder/owner/captain decided on a three masted Chinese junk rig with no shrouds or stays. He stepped very heavy masts made from pilings with little in the way of mast step or partners, just concrete to hold it all up.
9 people I personally knew including 3 children set off from SF for Panama and points south but they never arrived. Some wreckage washed ashore near Point Arguello I think. In my opinion the masts came loose and holed her.
15 years after, I was cruising in Mexico and still saw fliers up from the parents of the man's wife, wanting to know if they ever arrived anywhere.
Another story of stupid religious boaters. A traveling preacher showed up with a very strange 'boat' that was a pod in the air floating on aircraft drop tanks filled with foam. The rig was a small strange thing that was sort of a square rig set up but bizarre. He left for the South Pacific with a load of bibles but had to be rescued by the CG about 500 miles offshore, 3 weeks later, sinking.
Idiots. God will take care of me. God will make my inadequate piece of crap boat into a wondrous yacht. Your god gave you the brains to think. His job is over at that point and it's all up to you.

Part of me thinks that has to be an April fools joke, the other part of me really hopes it's not. The bow and stern are meh, but I actually like the hullform.

the bolger AS 39 is a real boat, some have been built

I personally cannot stand it, but that is just my humble opinion. Maybe a good boat for the Caribbean if you have a good weather window, darting from protected anchorage to protected anchorage.

goodwilltoal will never build a boat... he needs to go to Indonesia if he is serious

Bolger lived on the east coast , and I think he saw it as a sailing house for that area .Your suggested use is right on , and it would be good for that purpose .

    Why Indonesia ?

Bob and Sheila Wise built Loose Moose II, sailed across Atlantic and continued sailing in the Caribbean for a few years. They were happy with a boat. Bob has an interesting blog:

Well, if nothing else it inspired me to finish the hull plan for my Kayak Tender design, so this thread has accomplished at least one good thing!

Phil Bolger was a genius trailblazer who knew very well how far he could push the envelope of tradition and stay within the requirements for seaworthiness. Many look at his designs and run screaming in terror, but the experienced can see that they make very good sense in the main part.
Those fat transom ends spread the W/L in the ends, increasing form stability.
    Just like a Chinese junk....

Gotta share the wealth, even if it's just my photo library and memory, as I have nothing else except BERTIE. Otherwise I couldn't stand myself.
