What I said was , what you stick the window to will fail. Wood with a little epoxy wont do ,IMO . But I think you have the cart before the horse , and need more work on the basic design. Maybe take another look at the keel .

We shall return to the thread, after these messages from our sponsers.

    Too true Frank.

From the Sermon on the Mount by Yeshua Bar Yusef

You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

    —Matthew 5:38-42, NIV

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

    —Luke 6:27-31. NIV

There seems to be some Cognitive Dissonance occurring.

"Go amuse yourself, the righteous will walk on the ashes of the wicked, those are the facts. Christians have been too lax on people like you who come in mockingly trying to get us to accept you. Repent, there is no fellowship between you and me."

Must be his version of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscular_Christianity

Interesting link, I had no idea that such distortions existed , or maybe I did.

I am currently working on the development of a vengeful form of tantric Buddhism. It will not be available to the general public , but will be doled out to specific individuals.

    Pericles,

David cursed his enemy Goliath and it was a war of words before the head fell off the giant. Will not do such a thing to you and just warn you as The Scriptures command.

The pharisees who were the religious leaders perverted the Scriptures to disadvantage other men, The Christ replied with these words "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell". Matthew 23:33.

Hateful words and deservedly so, people like them knew who Jesus was, but they chose death over Life and took others down with them. So dont come around here talking as if the Scriptures are a fairy tale and then pompiously use them to defend your actions.

"I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust the Lord" Psalms 31:6.

    Peace.

    GWT not many.

If I had to shake hands with you, I would count my fingers afterwards. I doubt you are a nice person. I mistrust you and you have only yourself to blame for your poor reputation. Your canting and hypocrisy are a disservice to your co-religionists, if there are any such as you in Cleveland, Ohio?

Your religion is what you do, when the sermon is over. Go, put your creed into your deed. Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo.

All written by greater men than you.

And, BTW, learn to spell and type correctly. It's not hard, you know!

    "pharisees excape dont pompiously!.

GWTA it has been a while since I took a stab at you and time tends to mellow the mind. You seem determined to go ahead with this project so I will no longer just take stabs at you. The reason is that I am in your back yard. You might want to take a look at my boat which is powered by a SABB 2H with a 20" CPP. I get around 14-16 mpg and dock it at Catawba Island. If you could put up with a secular fool I would entertain a vist?

No need to waste money on a Naval Architect. I have drawn up some 3-D views for you ... (based on the sketches a couple of pages back).

No fellowship=no Xtian feeling as my Kentucky Baptist grandmother taught me. You must accept all with humility to be Xtian she said. I always thought real Xtianity was a lot like Buddhism, barefoot and hungry, giving all away to those who had less. Haven't seen much of that from Xtians the last hundred years unless you count Mother Teresa. Xtianity now seems to just be about taking stuff away from poor people to give to rich people, and that doesn't make much sense. Or like you, just threatening and angry.
Pericles, while rather opinionated, is entitled to his own opinion which he usually backs up with deep research and solid facts, while your "righteous (you and your fellow cultists) walking on the ashes of the wicked (everyone who does not accept your exact interpretation of the Bronze Age sky-god of an obscure Semitic tribe, which probably includes me)" is not a fact, but a myth. If you wish to waste your time with myth and fairy tales, do so, but leave me out of it. So your cult has been too lax on people like us? What does that mean? What are people like us as opposed to people like you? Are you coming down the street with an AK-47 to be less lax with people who aren't like you? Repent? What does that mean, think like you? All you religionists are certified whackos. A religious book of great importance to one billion people was stupidly and publicly burned recently by one of your cult leaders to prove his religion is better or some other logic I can't quite follow and now innocent people are dying due to more fanatic and destructive religion from the same Abrahamic source. I have been so patient for so long with your silly little boat and your stupid inability to grasp the most fundamental things, but I forgot your blinders-on cult orientation and that of course guides all in your thinking start to finish, including your lack of design and social sense beyond the most rudimentary, childish things.
By the way, just because a dorade box is 'supposed' to be best you are going to incorporate it in your design? What a stupid reason to do something. A dorade box keeps water out rather well, it also does the same to air and reduces airflow 50 to 60 percent over a straight vent. Use only where necessary, like all design details. If you want airflow worth a ****, don't use them.

there is no fellowship between you an me.

you waste the time of those who know and do.

there is interest in this thread but it has nothing to do with you and your bizarre religiosity. i'm reminded of the "(something - blind?) faith" which recently sank on its maiden voyage. i don't think you can sail or have any intention of learning.

so. if i wanted to build a boat (i'm not going to, i've already got a plastic one :)) what would anyone else go for? throw off the shackles of 40' ocean-going sharpie design! where would you all start? 40' seems like a decent size. would ply be viable for that size of boat? what kind of shape would be best for ocean crossing assuming we don't have bataan's boat-building skills......

    just a thought

Raw Faith is the boat that sank:

I thought immediately of this thread when I read it. What a waste of an effort by builders and rescue personnel. Stubbornness is a virtue only when its escorted by good judgment.

one quote from sailing net thread:

Maybe worth thinking for a second goodwill.

While we are quoting the bible.

    Ezekiel 23:19:20

Some real quality in in that book.
