    1950-60.the greatest added pleasure to family boating and living aboard knowing that you are safe from the usual problems of volatile fuels in boats.
    But would you bother or even think that important? there are different degrees of safe plans from the basic as shown in my photo gallery to sophisticated EFI and TURBO technology.All are working models.No theory or computer models,but not used for this purpose.

    1950-60 basic model used for 25 years.Webber carb and fuel pump in closet drained and ventilated overboard.Fuel pumped along the outside of boat from fuel cell or tank in outboard well.Crank case vented to carb.Motor amidships.Enhances performance motors.No problems,no need for bilge blowers or gas detectors.

  4. Not in the USA at a fueling pier. Your engines might run lean if you use the outboard fuel line raceway as a bumper.

    This 1960`s image shows the Remote Fuel System fitted in a boat with a motor amid-ships,under the seats and table.The carburettor and fuel pump are fitted in the closet at the left of the seats,and the fuel is pumped through a strong copper tube under the gunnel from the fuel cell in the covered outboard well at the rear of the boat,which is drained and vented overboard.there are no fuel accessories inside the hull of the boat.Crank case is vented to carburettor.The boat has a Pivotal Drive fitted and there are few places the boat can not go.This boat can have the motor fitted in the covered outboard well at the rear or amid-ships and in this case the fuel cells are fitted in compartments sealed from the inside of the hull.The carburettor is still fitted remote from the motor with ram tubes for 100 percent volumetric efficiency.

    I disagree in the "no need for bilge blowers or gas detectors". The installation would be illegal in the US, Canada and Europe. I don't know about the regulations in your country.

    You can include gas detectors and blower if you choose.
    Previously in the thread it was pointed out that there are models to suit the Boating Regulations of the countries where they need to apply.There is nothing to prevent the USA Boating Regulations to be applied.If you would like to point out where you think the USA Regulations are not adhered to,that would be great.Such matters are delt with through USCG...Standards for Coast Guard approval are developed through notice-and comment procedure in the FEDERAL REGISTER.

    The Remote Fuel System is used with the motor installed in the outboard well which is drained and vented overboard and of course bilge blowers and gas detectors if required.The option of having short runners for tuning to 6000-7500 RPM and long runners for low RPM torque with a switch over.The good charging of cylinders with long runners means a performance motor can be run at very low idle and smooth,ideal for a boat.
