Mr. Pierre, only thing I wanted to say here is that I want to build, create a boat I like, not the boat which is easy to make.

The famous Tancook whalers of Tancook Island Nova Scotia.....build by poor fisherman with no electricity, black locust, sawn frames, galvanized nails, stone ballast and about the fastest sailboats on the water.

You might have to cut down a few more Locust trees...and work with a hammer in each hand for a year or two ...but it would be worth it !!!!!

Sure would Look beautiful blasting south down the Velebitski during a Bora......

What makes you arrogant enough to think that the boat you want must necessarily be more difficult? Will you feel more satisfied if it is? You know, you just might be able to have you cake and eat it too!

I know what boat I want, it is in the first post, so I dont see what is so arrogant in that? My statement was that I chose Paul Gartside design because I like it, and its suits my needs not because Its more or less difficult then any other. I just didnt go with thinking, ok, maybe I should build a box, yea its ugly and everything but its simple and easy to make if you understand what I mean...

Okay jump to conclusions about what I said. Its no skin off my nose, Its not my money and I have no dog in this fight. If you want to use a philosophy about building what is technically possible rather than how is practical then don't let me get in your way. I am not in the business of crushing dreams. Reality does enough of that. All I can say is that I am seeing the same old familiar build philosophy that results in three times the estimated time and twice the cost for the same design.

In no way did I tell you to build a box. I told you that with a different philosophy you would save time and money building exactly what you want. Now you can take that any why you would like. Again its no skin off my nose, only yours. All I am saying is that your current attitude is very typical in this forum and will result in excess time and costs.

I have no faith that you will understand a damn thing of what I am trying to convey. Few people in these forums actually modify enough to save themselves a lot of grief and a lot of dollars. The school of hard knocks demands a high tuition rate. Not a problem. ;)

As an asside, your present attiude is the very trait that gives enough drive to actually do something. I just hope you don't run out of time and money with foolishness.
