The gallery should be able to handle short clips like an animation of a model spinning as an avi or mpg. But for "video" videos, youtube is probably a better choice at this point so the video actually streams from a streaming server.

Can you email the video you tried to upload to the gallery to webmaster (at) boatdesign.net so I can have a look at why it failed? Thanks.

Can you just post the link to the youtube video?

    upload question

Jeff, I took a movie today of the Trapwing concept model automatically self-righting but when I tried to upload it the file was too big-14 vs 10mb allowed. Is there a way I or you could edit it to shorten it -I don't have any editing software. Is there a way that the file size limitation could be waived once?
I'll post this in the questions area as well....
    Thanks ,Doug

The easiest way would be to upload the video to youtube and then use
[ youtube ]youtube-video-ID#[ /youtube ] tags to post it inline with your post.

Thanks, Jeff for explaining the "ID#". For the benefit of anyone else doing this the youtube "ID#" is the part of the youtube url for the video that is in bold below. Be careful-I got messed up when trying to insert it by misreading what should have been a zero for an "O"!
Getting a youtube account couldn't be simpler and they walk you thru it-just go to youtube.com to start.
