I got her in December of last year. I am 60 yrs. old and not as spry as I used to be so moving kind of slow. My B.I.L is a Mechanic so I bought $300 worth of parts for the motor to completely replace the carbs, mags, etc.. and bring the 40hp Rude' back to life. The Deck, Transom and Stringers are solid as a rock. She was Stored in a barn her entire life. Lucky ME!!! I have stripped her down and started to "Spit and Polish" the Aluminum accessories etc. I have just found out I have a bad Gall Bladder and it is coming out next week so I will be sidelined for a week or so but then I will be back on her. Hope to get the hull flipped this fall and get all the scratches and gouges filled. Then sand and fair to prep for Pettit Easypoxy paint. Hull will stay white with Top Cap to be Bikini Blue like original. Plan on changing Seats to Bench seats as shown in Avatar. They will be Blue and white.

This is what she looked liked when I got her home. $250.00 Boat, Motor and Trailer. It was actually 09' NOT 03'. Camera was not Re-Set.

Not bad for a 58 year old Transom. Was stored inside in a barn for all these years. I love Farmers and their barns!!!!!

Nice Accessories and they ALL work like NEW!!!!

Every once and a while I find something like this and it's usually one of those hulls with styling only a mother could love. Some people love tail fins on their 14' runabout, I guess I'm not one of them. Good find Flamingo, post more pictures as you get back on your feet and manage to get more completed. Also, welcome aboard . . .

I think she's a beaut, but I'm a guy who'd rather drive an MG TD than a new Porsche. I think you meant Bimini Blue, not Bikini Blue, but I like the way you think.

    Update

Well I got her all stripped down and flipped onto a cart @ Thanksgiving. I was surprised at how LIGHT she was. I guesstimate she weighed about 300 lbs. I have attached some pics of the bottom of the hull that is gunna need some work. I have given her a good washing with TSP and Acetone and will now begin the filling process using 3M's Premium Marine Filler. As you can see from the Pics , the Keel will need some glass work too! Weather here in Oklahoma is in the 20's and I do NOT have a heated shop so things have slowed down a LOT. This spring can NOT come soon enough.

    Upholstery

Well since it's been so cold here in Oklahoma I decided to give upholstery a try. I bought a Sewing Machine off of Craigslist and some SkyBlue marine Vinyl to match my Flamingo, Watched some videos on YouTube and ripped off the old Green vinyl from my Fishing seats. Heres some pics of what I have done so far. It is a LOT harder than I thought it would be but... I am learnin and besides it's to cold to be doin much on the boat outside. This is the Arm Pad for the Arm Rest of my Fishin Seat.

In cold weather (kind of a relative thing here in sunny Florida) you can employ a space heater and a tarp, which will usually get the local area warm enough to cure epoxy.

Something like this under a tarp will keep the surface at sufficient temperature to cure epoxy. I've used it on boats as low as near freezing (we don't get much cold then this) with no issues.

Yeah I was considering getting one of those for my garage if I can talk the wife into parking outside for a week. Don't know if my powers of persuasion are that good and if she like her Christmas presents that well. We'll see how that goes!!!

Very nice price for a project boat with hardly anything wrong.

I might put 1 more single keel roller on the trailer, at the front of the tilt frame.

You'll also need one of these...

Very nice looking boat. It looks somewhat to the 68' saftmate I picked up early last year. I'm in the process of restoring it also. I like your idea of trying to redo the seats yourself. I might take a stab at it (or stab myself trying).

    Got em Done

Got the Covers on one of the seats. Whatcha think?? I think they turned out pretty good for the first time I ever touched a sewing machine. I need to staple on the HideEm Gimp to finish em off and they'll look pretty sharp!!

Lots of trials and tribulations with health and family issues but she's done and we enjoy her.
