it's not what i think but i do believe those that have studied the issue with an unbiased approach

it's warming and we're in the process of a die off that rivals any in earths history, the die off more related to human activity than weather

once again your missing the essence of the mater

its the rate of change that is unprecedented

    not change itself

the speed of these man made alterations in the atmospheric chemistry make these alterations the danger they are

the natural cycle is unable to adapt and we loose species faster than they can move to a an appropriate micro climate

corrals for instance or trees or even whole forests are simply unable to adapt quickly enough

rain patterns shift, storm intensity rises, ocean currents change

in the end we are most likely to see a snow ball earth event than a continuation of some simple if extreme warming trend

the present changes are a warning
might be easier to do a little preventative medicine now than have to find a cure later

    cheers

Polar bear numbers are high and growing. Misleading videos sure pulled the wool over your eyes! I want a polar bear rug to go with my whaletooth scrimshaw display.

did you go and count them or are they too right wing to participate in a census?

Considering the extent of the discredit the warmist have collected lately, I paid much less attention to their deflated claims, so I don't really know if this is just our friend Boston and assorted cheer leaders or if this is an official trend...but I like to know why we have gone from

    A) Global warming will doom the planet
    B) Climate change will doom the planet.
    C) RAPID Climate change will doom the planet.

Now... Correct me if I am wrong but this male bovine manure has been going on for what... 15 years, 20 years? Isn't it time that some confounded CHANGE FINALLY HAPPENS FOR GOODNESS SAKE?
Shouldn't sea levels be covering the wharf and jetties of all marinas by now?, temperatures at scorching height? Massive desertification?
Rapid in English usually means fast, something you can see...well at least the opposit of the same slow as usual.
I don't see anything but some colourful and doctored charts on people computers and a lot of hot air emanating from politicians and more pot fuelled green deranged diatribe.

Mutatis mutandis, the lunatics of the time did some "modelling" and predicted that New York would be covered under many meters of horse manure due to the overuse of horse driven transportation.
Stop the horses!!! Too much poo !!
    The pretenses of grandeur!!

This is a boating forum, so presumably most people own or at least use a boat and moor it regularly.
I want to ask if there is anyone out there who has seen a variation as minuscule as you want in the sea levels patterns. If you are too young say under 30, ask your father or better your grandfather if you have him.
I personally and going by records kept by 3 generations of owners of water front properties in 3 different continents have not seen ANY change at all.

    RAPID MY FOOT

And please spare me the Pakistany/Russia I told you so BS

    no discredit at all

on the contrary every argument the deniers have attempted to pretend has been thoroughly exposed for the disinformation it is

everything from failing to comprehend the science
to a lack of knowledge of the basics of physics has been pointed out to various deniers
who pretend they didn't hear it and just keep right on blithering out one bit of disinformation after another
that or attempting to politicize the issue beyond recognition ( issue being the science rather than the political perception )

the simple reality is the readers can go back for themselves and see who is being truthful and who's presentation is intentionally deceptive

    cheers

and this from the guy who complains the IPCC models cant explain warming in a certain period yet forgets to mention that the period in question is the time frame the model is calibrated to. IE its base line.

    nice try

but a perfect example for the readers who dont have time to read through and find the flaws in the deniers arguments for themselves

thanks for making it easy to prove my point G

    :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

another fine example of how it takes about five seconds to shoot these kinds of poorly thought out arguments to pieces

And what the fitting of the base line for the models (usually 1961-1990 by the way, not 1940-1970, nor 1910-1940), has to do with the cooling temperature behaviour of the 1940-1970 period or the similar warming behaviour in spite of the big difference in CO2 concentrations between 1910-1940 and 1970-2000? Explain that to us from your high knowledge, scatterbrained Weasel. And also show us the impact of the base line in the several periods' temperature trend by choosing whatever base line you prefer. Try not to LIE or initiate one of your distracting maneouvres if you can, please.....

    P.S.
I think you'll find insteresting this, from Paul Clark's site:
"Of course, adjusting the baseline doesn't make any difference when you're looking for trends or cycles."

It has been going on for well over 40 years. They tried the ice age scare first but that didn't pan out so they switched tactics. They will say/do anything to scare pliant minds into submission.

show us evidence that an ice age was ever seriously considered by climatologists

You must have not been aware of the general consensus in the 60s 70s and 80s.

The shear number of papers/articles/statement is prohibitive to post, I suggest you do your own googling to this... but here is a video with a compilation.

Arguing the merits of the science is probably a waste of time, except to not that people are now making the 180 degree opposite statement despite the physics not changing much, but the history is worthy of noting.
