Aluminium Open classe 950

    I was Thinking about designing an Classe 950 http://www.classe950.com/p/en/laclasse/ to be built out of aluminium, with an interesting retracting keel for it bo the boat I build and sail arround the world, and ultimately my grave haha. Does anybody now abut cost estimates for aluminium sail boats of this type, and who who does thins kind of stuff

    Right now we are in the process of designing an aluminium Classe 950 boat. However we haven't done any specific cost estimates for it. You can check out our progress here: http://www.classe950.eu

    what is the advantage(s) with aluminum construction?

    Robust and durable construction, minimal maintenance, more UFO crash resistant , all within similar weights compared to standard composite construction.
