The example I gave was a comparison of unskilled migratory workers in the two realms. It was not a comparison of Nations.

Boat retailers , like all retailers, ought to be at the front lines of worker's rights and privileges. Boat designers ought to be closely behind them. A strong boating economy is dependent upon a populace with disposable income. In my Province most emerging workers have absolutely no disposable income unless they live in shared residences. Even then they live miserable lives bordering on hunger and poverty. With no capacity for saving, little or no disposable income, and no where to store a boat it is very unlikely they will own one in the near future. All of this is very bad for those who wish to enjoy lives in the realms of boat design and manufacture.

Anyone suffering within the shrinking boat market ought to apply themselves to broadening the base of potential buyers by enhancing the economic prospects of the common worker.

Or like we have right now, Trickle down misery. "The rich aren't spending so everyone else starves."

The rich are watching the current DEFLATION , and realize their money (for the time being) is worth more , buys more every day.

Japan went thru this for 20 years .

Most deeply in debt governments would like to create 10% to 50% inflation to lower the value of their debts.
With our fractional reserve financial system , money is not "printed" it is borrowed into existance.

Smart folks ( the rich folks) are not willing to borrow (or spend) when the value of their purchase is dropping.

people seem to think that the money they have belongs to them, it's the nations money and you just have legal use of it.

money is created by the nation to further the good of the nation.

when too few people have a preponderance of the money supply it ceases doing what it was meant to do, foster commerce.

the uber rich use most of their wealth/money in the pursuit of more money by any means regardless of the effect on the rest of us.

where as the rest of us use most of our money securing the things we need/want

it's the rest of us that actually keep the economy going.

Thats the theory but when your consumption is financed by debt and output equals input there's going to be trouble.

Don't worry pretty we are all going to be taking chickens in on trade. Think about something, let say you haven't eaten in a week, what would you rather have 3 piece greasy chicken meal with biscuit and cole slaw, or paper money, a ounce of Gold.
