    B.....

Far better to talk with the guys who were tasked with trying to fix the boat than looking at a perhaps worthless survey.......The highest bid for repair was probably the most realistic and or complete.....but it's hard to guess without knowing the people involved........find out the name of the surveyor and get it to me before doing anything.........

    Boston,
Remember the Atkins and the Ted Brewer 33? Both much better boats I think and TAD's Pine Isle could be easier to repair/refit than the Hadia Princess.
Get a grip Boston. Your'e looking at a foxy girl that gives you the tingles but what good is she going to be out here in Clarence Strait in Alaska???

    Easy

    And the abuse continues

Hey Pete I'm on my I pad at the moment and that movie won't come up on this thing, I'll check out your suggest when I get back to my desk

ward :p :p That was really funny

Easy it's a first boat not a last and I'd just harbor hop in it anyway, obviously it's not a blue water boat, but it's cheap and it's a place to start

    Ps
That bit about not being able to make up my mind was bloody hilarious

Looking at the three estimates you have on repairs to Haida Princess.......

The lowest one is $27k, 23k of which is labour....about 300 man hours and 4k in materials........the materials cost may be a bit low.....and the labour hours seem reasonable...but this just shows why people don't do this stuff.....I have two young guys here that will do the labour part for 6k.....not $75 per hour.

The second estimate is 30k....400 man hours for the same job....which seems high and 5k for materials which may be closer to correct.

The high estimate is totally bogus.....

two things are important in life
    the journey and the destination
my plan is to enjoy both

am supposed to be working so I cant get to long winded but it needs work. Its a lot of simple mechanical stuff and a few woodright items but nothing I couldn't handle on my own

thus far I'm inclined to make an offer
doesn't mean they will take it but I'm thinking it wont kill me to own this thing for a song
