In my yacht is one battery, I have a second battery and thought what better way would be to connect the two batteries. I have this battery selector switch http://www.svb.de/pictures/large/62b9bbcbdad3b6b1ecbbb3afbadbf4a7be054b3c.jpg . but now I'm thinking maybe a better way would be to use Split Charge Diodes

And if I use Split Charge Diodes , the battery selector switch will no longer be used in conjunction with Split Charge Diodes .

p.s my english isn't very good, but I hope you understand my question

You have a good, reliable solution with the Vetus switch.

The diode bridge may be easier because it needs no intervention from you, but there is a voltage drop of 0.5-0.8 volts, so your batteries will not be fully charged anymore. To overcome that, you need to install another regulator (14.5 V) in your alternator.
