    hi guys,

    painting a shot blasted hull, should i go for epoxy or 2/1 part polyurethanes?

    I'm thinking about priming the hull with liquid zinc (Zinga) would that be a waste of time/money or should i definately stick with the primers recommended by the paint manufacturers?

    thanks for the info :)

    Epoxy primers, then Epoxy paint, is the proven standard in european metal boat building since 25 years now.
    One should strictly follow a "one manufacturer" scheme and apply according to their recommendation.
    My personal choice is "Hempel", but there are many others as good.
    In your area "Sigma" was one of the prime choices.

    There are many examples, especially in Dutch waters (a corrosion friendly environment) which are in as new condition throughout. After more than 20 years.

    Regards

    AWLGRIP by AkzoNobel would be my choice if my boat were to be painted.

    @Apex1
    Let Lexluthor be the judge of how much he will invest in the paint, he requested suggestions, and that is what he got, and as I wrote AWLGRIP would be my choice..
