Hello, I am in the process of rebuilding my galley and I was thinking of using 1/4 ply and glassing it, with 1/2 for the top counter.
Can you recommend a laminate type/weight to use?
    I will be using epoxy.

There wont be an ice box going back in so the structure wont need to support as much weight as before there will just be a sink, a hole for a stove to Gimbel in and the back part will be for storage.
Is 1/4 plywood sufficient for this?

    1/4 is about 6mm right?

When glassed it will be sufficient.

Yes 6mm, I was thinking a couple layers of 10oz cloth but am unsure of the weight or buildup I need.
The glass I removed was 6mm or 1/4" thick and the cored top was around 3 mm glass per side over 12mm plywood.
I dont think I need 3mm of glass per side of 6mm plywood though...

No, 3mm would be too much, I would go for some 300gsm (gram m²) per side. 240gsm fabric 60gsm mat.
The weight is almost always twice the weight of the glass + 10% for handlayup.

    Hope that helps!

So one layer of mat and a layer of Fabric.
what is the best fabric to use 0 / 90? and maybe +-45 for the tabings?

I would use MERANTI BS 6566 6MM 5 PLY sound good?

What is the difference between the BS 1088 and 6566?

For interior, to be glassed with epoxy and non structural almost any decent ply..
    +-45 biax IMO ..

Is ok, cover the inside with neat Epoxy (which you need anyway to balance the "pull" of the outer layer!)

    As Teddy said, + - 45°
