Hello: I Have A 1988 Luhrs, Alura 30, It Has A 350chevy,4bbl And 71c Velvet Drive. My Problem Is That It All Of A Sudden Started Slowing In Rpm And Will Not Go Over 3000rpm, The Engine Starts And Runs Fine, Revs Up To 4700rpm No Problem, but When You Put In Gear, It Wines Pretty Loud And Will Not Go Over 3000rpm, Question, Will The Trans Cause This Problem With A Damper Affect Or Slipping Clutches? Help Please. I Have Changed Everything On The Motor Thinking That It Was The Motor??? Dosgatos

A fouled prop or a line wrapped around the shaft? Is this an all of a sudden problem or has it been sneaking up on you? Does the prop shaft turn freely by hand? Have you checked the oil level in the trans?

Thanks, For The Reply, Yes, I Thought Of That And Went Down And Cleaned The Bottom, Shaft And Prop, No Difference, The Prop Turns Free From Under Water With Very Little Drag, Just Enough To Be The Shaft Seal. It Always Stops Going Any More Than About3000rpm Every Time I Try It. Will The Trans Cause This Problem?

Have you checked to see that the secondaries on the carburetor are opening? 3000 rpms is usually about where they kick in.
