Hi everyone.I have replaced the motor cradle, transom and stringers in my 19.5 galaxy and am ready to install the floor. The original floor was glassed in as a solid piece.I was thinking of fiberglass coating the wood floor in sections and installing them so that they are removable. Is this OK or was it likely designed as a structural part of the hull. I have heard that you should put back in what you take out when making a repair on a boat hull and I have done this up untill this point but it would be much easier if I want to change interior componants like seat bases or for bilge inspection and cleaning. any info or suggestions would be greatly appretiated . It has been alot of work so far and I don't want to mess it up now. Thanks, kfab

Sounds like a structural part of the hull. I'd say make a full floor, but leave a couple of inspection hatches.

What about some pictures to get a clue what we are talking about?
Not all of us here are familiar with that boat (me for example).

And, yes it sounds like being a structural member.

    Regards
