    Intro plans

    Hi All
I have found some plans if you want them send your email address and I will email them to you.

I have owned my Intro for 26 years , can anyone beat that.
I love every nautical mile, although my arms seem to have stretched (weather helm) only fellow owners will know about this.:)

    Hi Duncan and all.
I have received the plans for the Intro 22 Duncan and they are very useful and detailed. We have owned "INTRO" yes that's her name, for 6 months. Built in 1978 At Lake Macquarie Newcastle Australia. Sail plan, Rigging details and Hull are very detailed and will be quite useful.
My wife and I love sailing Intro. Our last boat was a beautiful solid 32 ft Phantom. A very capable cruising boat designed and built in Australia. Now we feel that we are back to racing in dinghies with the power of a big keel boat. Amazing! We are still tuning ourselves and our boat and get better every sail. Still lots to do to bring her back to as new. Must balance work and sailing. Here are a couple of pictures.

I think it's letting me upload some parts of the brochure that I cleaned up a little bit (if anyone is interested).

    Thanks again

I think that i can beat that, my father took 6 years to build a plywood Intro in the front yard of our family home. She was launched in early 1982 making her 28 years old and is still in excellent condition. Rigged with a J24 mast and Gary Fogg sails, she is very quick for her size. My brother and i race her in a winter series and she constantly beats Northshore 27's and others up to 30ft.
The Intro is a fantastic small yacht that punches well above her weight and we love taking her out as much as possible. My father made 3 different rudders until getting it right and now it's fingertip control, rounding up is a thing of the past. We have never raced against a J24 but would be sure that she would give them a huge scare. There is another Intro in the next bay but she hasn't been used or touched for years, it would be great to race her as well.
    Cheers Dave

Hey Pete, i'l see if i can take a photo of it as it will be a bit hard to discribe but i know that you will have to make a completely new rudder as our one has very little rake aft, (leading edge) and it has small winglets on it. If an in the water photo is not very clear then you may have to wait till may when she is due to be slipped for the winter series of races, i'l see what i can do. Cheers Dave

    Intro 22 plans

    Duncan and all,

I am looking at a very run down intro 22 and considering taking it on. The plans mentioned in this thread would be very useful, the thumbnails don't come out on printer very well so I was wondering if I could get the original PDf files? email gareth.adkins at talktalk.net

    thanks in advance
