hi
i have a problem with sc
i want to merge surfaces to have a single surface for total hull then i want to split it to separate plates .
what should i do?

 

Convert each surface into a curve block, then merge the curve blocks, then make one surface from the merged curve block. You can then split that surface up into individual plates.

i have not tested this way yet.but i think by this way i will get a surface that is not exactly the same as previous surface .
is it true or not?

Its wont be exactly the same but will usually be within production tolerances

 

The solve using block curves will be enough depending the original method which you do the surface, because if when you extract the curve block the nurb curves can have some orientation(across the several curve blocks)which doest allow the creating of the new block in the SC Hull.

In my view, the better way is to do surfaces using the Maxsurf v14.01 /15 generating surfaces from skincurves. The Maxsurf v14 is available in the Formsys (http://formsys.com/maxsurf/products - or with your local dealer) With this solution you can split whole the surfaces independently of how you wish split their and then, when you go to ShipConstructor SC Hull to extract the curve block always will has a commom orientation of the Nurb curves, doing or not a transpose.

The new version of the Maxsurf has several increases with curves (for example, you can create a surface using curves created on mesh isolines of a surface) and also allows to export the *.msd design as a *.3dm file.

thanks a lot for your help.
really i have done your method by rhinoceros .i produced surface patches by rhinoceros and import them in the shipconstructor but it s hard to split them to create shell plate pieces by curve block.
in "foran" software when i was making surface in "fsurf" module i was not seen
patches in "fhull" module to create shell plates.

Ok, there are several operations which you can about the "Curve Block" maybe you could contact the ShipConstructor support team asking for a tutorial which explains how to create a single surface using several original surface patches.
The SSI Support is very attentive with its custommers. They answer issues as that almost instantly and also has a method of explaination very clear.

thanks a lot .i have some video tutorials but i have not seen the solution.

 

look for last SSI license install driver. who can upload it.
