    John,

    For hand lay-up a glass to resin ratio of 0.33 is a safe (conservative) aim. Knowing this you have to weigh the cloth and calculate the amount of resin needed. Make some extra, just to be sure.
    If you don't feel confident, go to your local GRP-shop, they'll be glad to help.

    Good luck.

    There is a formula SP use

    Resin harder mix required (grams) = AxNxWfxRC x1.5
    (1-RC)

    Where A = area of laminate (sq.m)
    N = number of plies
    Wf = fibre weight of each plie (g/sq.m)
    RC = resin content by weight

    Typical R.C.’s for hand layup manufacturing are:
    Glass 0.46
    Carbon - 0.55
    Aramid - 0.61

    resin has approx density of 1.1g/cm3
