This is geared more towards those practicing designers, boatyards and other potential employers -

I can see that the choice of yacht design school brings interesting discussion, but as an employer I am interested whether their is a preference in school. I am considering the YDS, primarily due to accessibility and cost and am curious what employment prospects are like for YDS graduates. I have always worked within a marine environment, in both an administrative and practical manner, but am eager to gain a design qualification in hope that it opens more doors for career advancement. My preference would be the Landing School, though the timing and cost make this impossible for this year. I also looked at Westlawn which seems to offer a well structured program, though not far off the cost of the Landing School (which would be my preference). What is thought of Macnaughton's YDS? What are my chances of employment based on this qualification, past marine/boat experience and a portfolio of designs?
