I am most embarrassed by the way this thread is being trashed by OT requests for Buccaneer 24 plans.
Will anyone who is interested in these plans please go to the "Buccaneer 24" thread, or the "24 ft trimaran plans for sale" thread.

This thread is for all the builders and sailors of the Lock Crowther designed Buccaneer 24 Sailing Trimaran.
The idea is that builders/sailors can ask questions and swap ideas to help each other in their task.

night heron trimaran

Still looking for a small trimaran build. Anyone one there have experience building Jones Boat? A Night Heron or Hummingbird?

Two books by Thomas Firth Jones:
"The New Plywood Boats" should still be in print. There is a little bit about building and sailing Night Heron in the Multihulls section.
"Boats To Go" is currently out of print, but you should be able to get it used through Amazon. It has a good piece about designing, building, and sailing Hummingbird, including reduced size illustrations of the plans.

I'd go for the B24. Twixt (Dad's 38 foot rigged b24) was proof of the design's capabilities

Hold up you blokes, catch up to 21st C, an alternative to the marvelous Buccaneer 24 will be Scissoring Sid - see on this site.

 

Beautiful boat Caiman, how is she for interior space and comfort? Racing? Trailer-ability?

 

Hi, so has anybody out there actually build a K24 and if so can we have
some feed back. Room on board ? speed attained ? Ease of build ?
Cost ? any info would be great, Waterat.

 

I think I was unfair to the b24 and other small tri's I could not see myself having one because I am a tall guy couldnt get over what i felt was a cramped space and disliked the seemingly unlevel stance of all of them over the desire for a small catamaran but in those I could still not find one that had cabin accommodations and exterior usable space that the Tri's have. James makes great points small Tri's that are Trailers deserve a second look if your someone in the same situation or it takes years to come full circle not finding what you're looking for in that length.
