    Hi,

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of others work in the higher speed powered Seabright Skiff or other box keel styles? I'm particularly interested in the V bottom direction as developed by Atkins, but with a leap in performance and materials. The size range/style I'm working with is sub 30' fishing/utility boats. Thanks.

    Tad,

I read thru that thread and it seems only Tom Lathrop is going where I want to go. I understand that there were numerous variations of the Seabright Skiff theme on the Jersey shore, some with excellent planing performance at reasonable horsepower, good load hauling ability, seaworthy, and with the advantage of being able to take the ground gracefully. That's pretty much my design brief-got some ideas and prelim sketches, but want to see where others have gone. Thanks.

I think Dave Gerr talks about it in his book, the Nature of Boats....

And there's always the Atkin website at http://www.atkinboatplans.com - profile, sections, etc. of a whole bunch of Sea Bright skiffs. No tables of offsets though. Gotta buy the plans to get those.
