trying to find supplier for tiny surface dr prop from Thailand

Have any of you guys seen a supply outlet other than in Thailand to get one of these? it is for a 125 cc longtail racer.....

Newinertia, have been looking all over this site as elsewhere to no avail. Where can i find some links on boats & motors, I want to build one of these, all i seem to find is the 10 meter boats, I want to build a drag boat, the one in the video with a 125-250cc 2 cycle motor. Thanks, Phil

 

Where is your inventivness , make one and learn along the way . Use a centrifical clutch on the back of the motor and its just an enclosed shaft inside a stainless steel tube with a prop and skeg at the tailend . How simple has that got be !! , If you have trouble with a prop look for what the mini hydros are using , Make the shaft with the same attachment so you can use a stock prop . Come on use you imagination think beyond the go and buy mode and live a little !! dosent hurt if you use the brain , it need to be streach from time to time . .

The props they use are hi rake so they shed the rubbish and dont get tangled in the weeds and crap that floats round in there water ways !!

 

Tunnels, seems i will be stretching the brain & pulling out the rest of my 2 hairs, lol, as you say learn along the way. Was trying to omit the last step, but as you say, how hard can it be? Will post progress as i go, need to go shopping & start splitting or pulling hairs! Phil

 

Just remember the thai guys have been doing this for a long long time and some one had to be first , its a work in progress so to speak .
After spending some time on Youtube that was the only prop like that i saw .Heres a throught how about using a tubular prop shaft and making a special end for the propeller to fit on and using a out board prop with the through the hub exhaust!!! Pass the cooling water from the motor through the hollow shaft to keep the shaft tube cool .
I love working and living in asian countries they use what ever is at hand as thats all there is to work with . They are the masters of invention and we could all do with being thrown in to the deepend and have to make do with what is laying about us .
Some where there is a James Bond movie where he is racing in one of those boats and they end up using the props to battle with . Cant remember what the movie was called . It had to be from the 70s or 80 sometime !!.Was the first time i ever saw that type of drive !!

 

Yes i recall the James Bond movie, i guess that was the first time i saw this design also. I was already thinking about using a production prop as you say,would be easier to find parts, i also like your idea of the cooling system use. Would have to run seperate tube for exhaust, & cooling system, don`t think i could get away with running that through the shaft bearings, would have to oil or grease fill prop shaft tube. It`s a start though! Phil

There ya go !!! a team affort !!

After think about that wee prop over night i had a some pictures some where of a racing prop that look just like that one but was a 4 or 5 blade as i recall . Have a heap of old boating photos stuffed in a box some where ,will have to go have a look see !

 

I can sale you a complete set.whith or whit out shaft.
