Actually nuki, I just thought outriggers would make the boat less tippy. Who wants to fall into the cold water? They are used on the sailing canoes over here.

Hehe I dont want any outriggers!
As a viking I prefer to take the risk. hihi!

Ah actually I am planning to solv the tippy problem with some lead in the bottom of the keel. Just to make some kind of bulb and cover with epoxy skin.

This will make less resistance. And also the keel will go down under the streaming toplevel of the water. This will also make less leeway.

Of course I do know that the keel draft also makes more resistance.

Another point is that I want to make it easy to take down to the water from the car.

Hmm, a canoe with a lead keel. Sounds interesting. What dimensions do you plan for this keel?

Oh I don´t think it have to be that big. What about max draft 0.75 and about a few extra kilos. Almost as the picture.
Ah damn of course I did mean to put a centerboard with an lead bulb in the bottom. Then you are able to pull it up if it is calm weather. and if it is a little bit windy you can let it draft a little lower. In this way you are able to chose.
