The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

Yeah well thats ok,-- but if you going through life waiting for some one to fall so you can pick it up ---well.

That kinda reminds me of a friend of mine that waited all his life for his mum and dad to die to get a house. He was 65 before he was successful,---is successful the right word?

The word parasite comes to mind. A young man is not afraid and diversifies, he does not understand what the problem is about and gets on with it. Your showing signs of age.

    Ha, nice try Frosty!

I don't go through life walking into obvious problems, that is for the blunt tools in the shed...

Have you good folk finished? would you care to comment on the build of useful ideas that you would like to present to the forum? - - - Is the USA trend of a pissing contest spreading throughout the world? - - I happily play along for brief interruptions, but persistent pissing leaves a bad smell in the air...

Mas, I was looking at a Oram cat on a sling on another thread earlier today. It looks to me very much like the one you are building. I wonder if the cabin has the same lines as yours will have.

Zed, Yes only an impatient fool seeks to bash into walls and other softer obstructions - become more zen-like and bend with the wind like the grasses on the open plains...

hoytedow, do you have a link? is it like this http://boboramdesign.wordpress.com/39-c-ms/

Spoken like a man that has never been caught on a lee shore with machinery thats not cooperating. Maybe a little more experience is needed before you throw the fool moniker around.

Poo happens, on the best of boats! It compounds in ways you'd swear where million to one shots... a boat without windward ability is hobbled, how you choose to use it on a daily basis is up to you ---> even a Zen Master can fight when required.

    For ZED,
Oh the rig has windward capability, John Hitch can sail "X-IT" with the apparent near 30 degrees... I have yet to test the limits of my boat, but it will point higher than Captain Cooks' "Endeavour", (having been on the replica), and good knowledge and understanding of ones boat is all part of good seamanship...

One cruising yacht (production cat) was proudly shown at 10.+ knots and 64+ degrees with sails fairly hard on so I guess the reading was true wind angle - - OOPS? - - I am guessing but you sound like a dedicated power-boat-man? - Do you have twin engines (I have)....

Hoit, yes that is a 44C - - - mine is sort of... the experimental version... that was used for the 39C MS

I am shocked that anyone would come in here and insult the mans building project
I've seen a lot of screwed up projects get discussed on the forum but Mass's is far from one of them
    he has hired
    professional naval architect
professional builder with experience building this exact boat
    and used the appropriate materials
to build a proven design of known capabilities

just goes to prove some folks could find fault in just about anything

I think its going to perform flawlessly Mass
and I appreciate you posting the build process so we can all see what a great job you have done of it

I read the thread avidly and hope I can do as well with my own build when the time comes
I say thanks for setting a great example

This is good! Actually sounds too good but close will do, you will need it at some point, Murphy will see to it.

Who insulted the project? Get ya hand of it Boston.

Oram's as are a fav of mine, the rig will make it a orphan in the used market but Mas seems aware of that and is not concerned.

    Plastics

It is worth reading the 'plastics versus glass' section at Boston's maxtanks site just to put the 'convenience' of plastics into perspective.
