Or is that a visual effect of SM2 turning away and AG being carried out on SM2's wake waves?
Or a combination of the two?

The stern wake of the whaler is from the port meaning she was on a long sweep to port . The bat boat was on her starboard side so the whaler was turning to avoid the batboat.

And yes did you see the speed she reversed of after the collision. Obviously well in control of the situation.

Paul Watsons credibility has been shattered and he lied by saying the Adu Gil was stationary. He must be blatantly reporting what he had been told by his ***** captain of the Ady Gil.

I'm telling you this is a media 'hat-trick' by Sea shepherds...I'm not saying that Watson is beyond re-proach...He's certainly been around long enough to know better than Rupert Murdock what the value of media is...and all it's little intangibles...I do think he's smarter by now than the Japanese with this whole thing..and that an incident like this will probably finally prod the Japanese to have a "Meiji moment" and come into the 20th..or possibly 21 st century...much like the late 19th century...it may be time to finally trade in the harpoons...just like the Samurai traded in the samurai sword(under imperial edict)..in the Meiji period of the late 19th century and get a firm grip on some semblance of modernism....look guys...this kind of thing is a lose ...lose..for the Japanese...I like history, politics, some other things, and I like sea creatures...but this is all logic that could be found in the Karl Rove book of kill or be killed politics,Machiavelli or Sun tzu..When you have Discovery Channel you have already have 50 percent control of the message...when you can bring it onto CNN,NBC,ABC and FOX and it still don't stink...and when Ann and and Al Roker wrinkle their nose...you have a PR problem that the Japanese haven't seen since before the Old Emperor Hirohito quit and became an avid student of marine biology and Northern Pacific starfish behavior...(the late 40's till his death in 1989). Like it or not..Watson wins again...He's good at what he does...and 40 whale fishermen with a starboard tickish captain at the helm and water cannons wont stop him...just thought it needed to be said...

How about public statements and press conferences from the SS themselves, where they very clearly state they're heading out there to harass the whalers and disrupt their activities? Am I making those up? Are you trying to deny the fact that they announce their attentions to the whole world? It's ridiculous for you to carry on like the poor, innocent SS are out there on pleasure cruises and the evil Japs attack them for no reason at all....

Why do the water cannons come out whenever an 'eco-vessel,' as you so quaintly term them, approaches? Please...you aren't really so stupid that you don't know the answer. And if you think I am, you're sadly mistaken.

Although to put it bluntly, you do seem to have a thin grasp on reality. Look at your earlier slam at loggers...where do you think the lumber to build houses, apartment buildings and stores comes from? Do you think the Good Eco-Fairy wiggles her little stardust behind, and politically correct lumber simply falls out of the sky?

No. It's provided by loggers busting their tails at a backbreaking, dangerous job, to supply the materials that give you a place to live and shop.

And if you're claiming that tree spikers only go after illegal logging activities, you're either incredibly ignorant of your own causes and fellow travelers, or lying through your teeth. Which is it?

Let's see.....your hero is Paul Watson. And he has indicated repeatedly, on the record, that lying to the public and to the media is not only an acceptable tactic, but an admirable one....

Show me the law that says people are not allowed to protest illegal actions?
Do you agree with the actions the Chinese military took against protesters in Tiannamen square?

They used large metal machines to smite their soft targets as well

So now you are saying the Japan did attack them, but it's OK, they were being protested against,by a horrible bunch in a plastic toothpick of a boat, for doing illegal whaling .

Big brave Japanese whalers shall smite plastic toothpick with mighty metal monolith.

    Banzai

Just as well they did anounce their intentions, if they had not, perhaps the world would not have heard of this attack, plastic toothpick disappear without a trace.

Probably because they don't like being filmed doing these illegal whale killings.
Most criminals don't like being filmed I would imagine.

My house , which is 20 years old, is built from plantation pine and man made products, not old growth forests.
The places where I shop are made from steel, brick, concrete and glass, not old growth forest.

Have you any evidence to support these allegations?

Perhaps you failed to notice that I did not condone tree spiking in an earlier post, but I also dont condone cutting down old growth forest for woodchipping of for being used for things when other more sustainable products are available.

He is not my hero, but I can assure you the whalers are not, though they do seem to be yours.

Can you provide these links where he has said this or are you just making this up as well?

This is why the water canons are out, to prevent SSCS crowd from getting close enough to board

    And this is why:
    http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2010/01/06/crimesider/entry6062496.shtml
    And this is why:
    http://www.seashepherd.org/news-and-media/news-060215-1.html
:!: Let's look at that again, and do note the URL it comes from http://www.seashepherd.org/
    And this is why:
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34573416/ns/world_news-world_environment/
    And Especially This Is Why
do watch this one more time, please.

    01 January Incident
sounds like being attacked with intent to hurt people, yes? no?

Take a good look at 1:21 point and tell me you know for certain that tube with the green laser beam they pull up and shoulder is not going to be a friggin RPG????????

You KNOW that it isn't, right?
    Right?
    Right?

:!: And one more time just in case:
Let's look at that again, and do note the URL it comes from http://www.seashepherd.org/
Now, good sir sabahcat, got any more questions as to why the water canons come out immediately :?:

If your tube had a laser beam coming out of it and you were trying to aim it into people's eyes, you should have been shot. And it's a pity you weren't.

If it didn't have a laser beam coming out of it and you weren't trying to aim it into people's eyes, your post is irrational nonsense having nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Personally, I think you're lying again; you weren't even at the hardware store yesterday.

    Let me say this about what Watson might be capable of;
    http://www.ecoworld.com/animals/sea-shepherds-paul-watson.html

    http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Global-News/2010/0106/Whale-Wars-The-aggressive-tactics-of-Sea-Shepherd-Paul-Watson

Now then, as far as Watson allegedly having a propensity to lie, from article above
So there is Watson's own work advising people to lie. Difficult to believe he'd advise others to do something he would not.

Lets go back to the CS Monitor article:
    Note
Watson has used explosives against whaling ships.

He's already used mines - an RPG is within the realm.

    easy there

I were the hat as well
    shoe my own horses
or at least I did a few years ago when I still could afford them

    am armed to the teeth

    eat mostly meet
    game animal mind you
not that genetically engineered steroid infected hormone injected death that whitey wants me to

    and am half Iroquois
    and half white

my hat and my location are not in question
what matters is my willingness to appreciate the land in which I live, the lives I live with, and my place in the circle,
I believe I am acting in accordance with my creation to kill and eat, what is not in accordance with my creation is to kill every last creature. There is a balance in all things and it is that balance that is in question.

not my dress my color or my place of birth

Im kinda starting to wonder about this Troy cat
but he can dam well where whatever ******* hat he pleases

    B

Recent footage casts a different light on the episode, the crew of the bat boat appeared aft and hi-fiving each other at the conclusion of the "operation", then all of a sudden, panic as they realise the Whaler has turned towards them and all attempt to evade the whalers charge and hold on to brace for a collision... - The footage was on the Australian FTA Commercial TV (#7 or #9?) - - - - - - More twists and turns than episode 9999 of a soap-opera...
