Pissing in the wind, just like the crew on the Shepheard. until we find out where this act took place nothing can come from further assumptions.

Ive been doing some searching to this question hoping that the media would have published the coordinates of this incidence. It appear that this information is kept secret infact even between each other. Why would that be I wonder?

The area is referred to as "Australian Antarctic territorial waters" I have no idea what or where that is

The whaling vessel is now being accused of ignoring the Ady gils may day distress call !!! And the mud slinging goes on.

Good news it that they are not going to continue the at sea campaign against whaling but take there disgust of whaling to the shores of Japan itself.

Looks like they are wising up at least.

i do not support whale killing and what the japanese are doing here for 'scientific research' is plain BS...

i understand the motivation of paul sheperd and his bunch and understand somewhat their acts... even support them to a certain extent...
just lately i have seen a documentary on discovery channel...
they are a bunch of good minding amateurs - bleeding amateurs and landlubbers...

has anyone of you looked at the various videos closely?
'ady gil/earthrace' actually drove into the japanes whaler... you can see clearly that they sped her up to get in front of the whalers bow but misjudged the distance/acceleration or whatever somehow... probably they mixed up reverse with forward... :p

it was and is their fault in my opinion and having seen the documentary i could imagine why and how this might have happened...

what a shame about this beautiful boat... R.I.P

When you start claiming today's attitudes are equivalent to the attitudes that allowed Hitler's rise, it certainly sounds to me like you're justifying intervention in another country's internal affairs...especially when you complain about British and French 'gutlessness' in 1933-34. What happened in 1933-34 was that Hitler rose to power inside Germany. Do you think the Brits and French should have invaded Germany to stop him from becoming Chancellor?

OK, we've officially fulfilled our obligations to sidetrack onto Hitler and Nazis no matter what the original subject was; how about we get back to it now?

You yourself just nailed the pivotal question: can Australia can really claim those waters? Most of the world says they can't, and any attempt to project their military power into the area and start policing it like coastal waters wouldn't be well-received.

The Japanese, on the other hand, need to take stronger action in my opinion. They have a perfect right to defend their ships with whatever force it takes, and I personally think the world would be a better place with a few less fanatics in it.

I'm fairly sure I've expressed my views on what the proper response should be. I've saved the video Capt Vimes noted. I concurr that the batboats pilot probably got confused at the controls or was so fanatical he kamikazied his boat for the success of the media manipulation ploy that was so clearly in operation. We only have the videos available because this was a staged affair precipitated by the eco terrorists.

A bit ironic that the japanese whalers were attacked by a divine wind, either mistaken or intended. But as I've said I've saved the video, good times and good riddance.
