You are right. And I am not really completely biased. But sometimes it tickles me to bother the multi league. :D

Seems unlikely. A boat is going to have either one hull or more than one, isn't it?

Although, a well known racing monohull designer did refer to the current crop of canting keel motorsailers as poorly designed multihulls, so maybe they are your hybrids.

And the thread title has already happened several times.

I wonder if it would be allowed to race in the Sydney-Hobart?

Ok Dough, it's working. Next someone is going to come up with a cat submarine or a trisubmarine.

Is it Langman that thinks this is a tri.... or you, Doug?

I'll say it flat-out... It's not a tri, even if Langman wants to say it is. Lean that puppy over on one of those "amas" on a fast reach and you have an instant cartwheeling pile of 60' upside down crap. Any ORMA 60 footer would smoke that pile and that's probably why it never got built.

Weren't there some fairly sobering comments from the actual designer... (was it Bethwaite?) as to the efficacy of this pipescheme? Years after the fact, you dredge this crap up off the pissoir floor and wish to offer it up as what... ?

    Geez Louise
