When was the last time a poor person offered you a job?

That's a completely pointless question. I could just as well ask, "when's the last time a rich person made you breakfast, or painted your house?"

But to answer it anyway: I was a building contractor for years, and made a good part of my living doing repairs, additions and remodels--mostly for people at the lower end of the economic ladder. I often worked on rentals, and the (non-rich) landlords paid me with the rent money they collected from poor people.

I hired a lot of people myself off and on over those years, without ever qualifying as rich myself. As a matter of fact, there were times when my crews or helpers got bigger paychecks than I took home myself. There are a whole lot of workers who don't depend on crumbs from the rich for their jobs.

Every time a poor person takes his car in to be worked on, or buys groceries, or goes to the movies, he's helping to give someone a job.

A basic requirement for a healthy economy is for "the masses" to have
"that money to buy" in order to sustain existing , and create new jobs.

A poor person has never , nor is he ever likely to " offer " anyone a job.
He is , however still a consumer , supporting the system.
The term " poor " is subjective . It can mean different things to different people , in different parts of the world.

Basic economy dictates that there has to be a consumer with discretionary , disposable income..

Remove the consumer and the economy unravels.

Masalai why you always come with copy pastes or links. I reintere my former question.
But in the other hand it is entertaining.
In my opinion, and I have no clue if I am in topic, we have to pay taxes. This is important. Here in the US we don't pay enough taxes, we should pay more.
By paying more taxes we will have less hidden taxes, and most of the population can realy think of the gouverenment to be a partner.
I am a dreamer, complitly out of touch with reality? You bet.
But all the patriotism should not be for war, but for pace and the well being of each person.
Freedom of expression and freedom of work, without interference from the gouvernement, absolutly, but this one should take care of the education and the left behind by the society, the transportation, the energy, and so on. And for that we should pay more taxes.
    Cheers
    Daniel

    I share your sentiments Daniel.
Unfortunately , it plants us both , firmly among the dreamers, who are completely out of touch with reality.

I tend to think lately the gov becomes less partner and more slavemaster.

When someone takes your money from you by force to give it to someone else to buy political favour, it is not charity, but rather, robbery and extortion.

dskira, I am not sure what you mean, but in response to a question (off topic - but he was a newbie and a stranger), from karabacak, of Turkey seeking the almost impossible, to find a friend of a friend, - - - at least I gave him a lead, in a method and manner that seemed most appropriate at the time, so if you object, WTF? I don't know how to respond to what you imagine is inappropriate?

I think you made a noble effort to help a total stranger, and you should get points for that. I also think this is the second thread he has interrupted for his quest. I give you rep for your efforts on his behalf.

Thanks hoytedow, not necessary, + points are irrelevant, especially when negative are anonymous and carry no helpful ideas or suggestions - - - except petulant childishness of an antisocial kind...

I do not mind "innocent piracy" or interruptions, as that is part of normal communications...

To get back on topic, Taxes should be around 10% (as a GST - General Sales Tax) and definitely never above 20% and THAT IS ALL - - - - - NO OTHER TAXES...

That would mean that the government bureaucracy could be reduced to almost ZERO.... What an impossible dream :D :D   :?:
