    Hello everyone,

I have been using maxsurf to design hull for a while know, but mostly sailing hull with round shape.

I woul like to design a planning hull thistime for a power boat and I don't really know how to create 90° angle for my shine of the sides of my boat. My control points always give me a smooth shape and I don't know how to remove that.

    Thank you

Steph357 the way I do it is to create two or three linear surfaces and join them then add control points to adjust the shape, here is an example.

Lots of surfaces can cause you problems in hydromax unless you are careful and if you have limited surface this can sometime not be an option.

You can always change the flexibility of the surface if it is a fully chined shape which is the simplist way! I have done some example designs that merge between the two types of hull shape (e.g. curvey forward section merging into chines and flat planning surfaces aft) the best way of doing this is by having two net points next to each other or group them ontop of each other and it create chines.

    I hope it helps

I tried your way Yachty, but I found it hard to move the point after to have a very right angle and a fair shape.

Having Two surfaces seems easier to me.

Zeroname your 0,0,0 is not on the boat lines move the lines or the zero points to the centreline of the boat and say the fwd perpendicular
