    Hello
I am looking to build a 32' York style boat - This is a wind, human powered boat - I have attached a couple of photos that gives you an idea of what I am looking for.

Does anybody know where I can find some plans - I have searched and searched and can't find anything.

    Thanks

Too funny...that you would send me this....
We meet them up here in Minnesota and spent about 3 days with them - helping them. They are the ones that inspired me to build the boat. The photos that I posted are of their boat. I want to get building soon and they will not be around for a few more months. They did not work off of plans and just built as they went.

But thanks so very much for answering my question. I will keep looking and see if anybody else has any ideas.

    Have a nice day!

Ask over at the WoodenBoat Forum, in the Designs/Plans section. I think you might find lines that you like in some of the northern European boats, which I believe this boat has its origin .

Thanks for the Info. I will go to that forum and post my question. The York boat was used by the Hudson Bay Company transporting good up in Canada.

    Thanks again

WoodenBoat #144 has 10 pages on the York boat and a set of lines for a 43' hull. As I thought they have a Viking legacy, developed by Hudson's Bay Company to replace the freight canoe.

Yes I read this article, and have the address for the author, who lives close to where we are - I have not had a chance to write to him... Also need to get my passport before we can go visit...

    Thanks for the info

    have a nice day

FYI - we moved from the Seattle area 13 years ago...maybe we passed on the freeway... :)

Father of Ten: My son and I are also planning to build a boat, and York Boat looks possible. Did you find plans?

    Hello MississippiNick
No I have not found any plans - It almost looks like I might have to draw some up myself.
