    First time ever poster

Please bear with me as I can only type about 5 wpd (words per day) and for get about spelling. Type like they sound and hope the computer dictionary catches it. Any way I have been shadow threader of this site for a while and have finally decided to rebuild and document best I could a boat that I believe is worthwhile. I am going to put as may pictures as possible as soon as I finish this intro. I currenty reside on the west side of Fl near Cortez. Its a boaters paradise, and fishermans dream.

The boat a Tremblay 228. This boat in my eyes has good lines and will do it all. I have seen this actually boat in some rough seas and with over 2,500 of fish on the deck, with 3 people + gear 5 miles off shore. When you see the picks of the stringers I know that you will be thinking the same thing I was

I keep getting an invalid file error when trying to up load pics

It is really hard to describe what I see as I am working but I have since removed two of four stringers and 1/2 the transom. Found out that it use to be an inboard, and whom ever changed to thought that the more layers of glass and ply you put the better "if one nail is good then 8 is better" there was a total of 5 different layers! Lots of stainless nails and rusted screws.

I also found that the sides of the hull have a sandwich of probably balsa wood? Any ideas about leaving or redoing?

Maybe the composite is made of hanging chads?

If I could post a Pic, what I see is a uniform grid pattern behind some chop strand, looks to be about 2" X 2"

In Florida, the recount state, an election happened and the outcome hung on the hanging chad. It was a composition of wood fiber, clay and binding agents which gave it the appearance of a very tiny piece of heavy paper. Never had so much history depended upon the final disposition of so few tiny products of the forest industry, of which the final outcome still hangs in doubt. If only the cellulosic material had been used to make a good rowboat, because it has been a constant row ever since.
