I am embarking on building a scaled model (initially) of one of several boats I am considering. In my fairly expansive research on the web, I have not found plans for the models I am researching. Does anyone have advice as to how to go about finding plans for boats that are not commonly built or advertised?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kevin

If you are looking for information on a specific boat but don't, for example, even know who the designer is, one approach would be to ask in various forums (these forums, though they are still very new, the boatbuilding.com forums, the rec.boats.building newsgroup, etc.) If you have some photos or a sketch, post this on a website or a public webspace and provide a link to the information you have. There is a good chance that someone will be able to point you in the right direction at least.
