Looks like Marseilles to me :)
The second picture may be from the end of the road, avenue des Pébrons?

Good to see that place again, I lived in the old village of Mazargue, now a part of Marseilles, a few months around 1994(?). My wife got a job there and I followed without any job so I just bicycled around and watched the boats..

OK, here is a place I have never been, but I'll sail there sometime I hope. It seems like a pleasant little island, even if it's probably crowded in summer.

Eastern coast, New England is correct.

Block Island, off the Rhode Island coast about 9 NM. Nice sailing area. A little crowded in summer, but the autumn off season is great. They've had to move the South Light away from the cliffs at least once that I know of.

Somewhere in the Galician Rias. In a hurry now I'll find out later, if nobody does it first. :)

    Cheers.

    Well, let's see:
The place is undoubtedly Galicia, because of the "Rua" (meaning street in galician language) restaurant and the old mussels boat. Unluckily there are hundreds of "Rua" restaurants around here.

The place is most probably at any of the Rias of Arousa, Pontevedra or Vigo, but that wide stoned ramp doesn't look familiar to me.
The combination of weed and what seems to be a muddy bottom suggest the place to be rather towards the inland end of a Ria. But which one....?
