    Children don’t lie….

See the happiness on the children’s faces and the look of contentment on their parents’. It conveys the message that even a thousand words cannot and will not convey.

Is this how the US is promoting democracy in the world?

    The day after tomorrow:
The Sri Lankan economy has shown extraordinary resilience to all these man-made and natural disasters. During the past 30 years, Sri Lanka has hardly had any peace due to uninterrupted terrorist attacks in various forms by the LTTE. But in contrast to the popular argument that military expenditure had dragged the economic development, it can be argued that rather, it had helped create the resilience of the economy in the face of the world's most ruthless and sophisticated terrorist outfit.

This country is too small to be divided along ethnic lines but certainly large enough for all communities to live in together as one. Now that the LTTE is a thing of the past at long last, let a concerted national effort be made to put the conflict behind us by eliminating the causative factors.
