Claiming that Pakistan is not doing enough to defeat terrorism, the US is taking targets inside Pakistani territory without giving a damn about human suffering. But, when Sri Lanka liberates territory and civilians from terrorists and readies for crushing an internationally banned terrorist group once and for all, there is resistance from the US and its allies.

One gets the impression the US just keeps enough of them left over so they can be a problem in the future as well.

Did Sri Lanka stop their action ?

The Government is not giving in to various pressures exerted on it to stop the humanitarian operation or declare a ceasefire and it will go on till the last civilian is freed from LTTE clutches, the Defence Secretary stressed.

what he means is -the government is winning so why would they stop? - besides which if they did stop who would feed all those TAMIL civilians (and just who is a Tamil civilian? if he's Tamil he's a combatant, bit like many other ethnic groups!)

What a joke. Anyone who's been keeping up on the subject knows darn well that the Tamil Tigers are done, they're spent, fighting within an ever shrinking box (currently about a 5 mile square area).

These are the same brave warriors, that use civilians as "human shields". Of course they deny the accusation, but it's plainly clear to all but them.

The Tamil a minority that have been attempting to create a separate state for a few decades. They're unquestionably militant, having carried out atrocities against innocent women, children, politicians and civilians, assassinations, use children solders, suicide bombers (especially women). These folks are the worst of the worst.

Now they've all but lost their latest battle and will go under ground again, so they can stroke their brand of demented social values into a revised fervor in a few more years. Of course they'll use children and women as personal body armor as usual. There's nothing that can be good to be said about these animals.

The reason they survive to come back and haunt society again, is because they are permitted to do so, in the free society they live in. If the shoe was on the other foot, this wouldn't be the case and they'd exterminate all that didn't agree to their way of thinking. This is classic fundamentalism. If you don't think like us, you must die.

The devastation by the British came by way of destroying Buddhist hydraulic civilization, massacring and incarceration of thousands of people, making millions of acres arable by introducing commercial crops in place of paddy, mass scale deforestation, slaughter of thousands of elephants and wild animals, plunder of gold, silver, jewels, artifacts, ivory, destroying the indigenous education system, pitting one community against other with an administrative system that heavily favoured minorities thus sowing seeds for one of the longest protracted conflicts in the modern world.

Wow D Formula only 4 posts and you are telling us what we should or shouldnt read.

Whilst I am bored with Gamages posts (and he has a lot) I defend his right to post. I also defend your right to not click onto it.

The title should give you plenty indication that it is not boat related yet you clicked onto it then complain.

Don't try to censor what I read, this is a world wide site stretching beyond the borders of America into the free world.

DrFormula, What are you on about, I presume by your attitude, Biloxi indicates that you are from USA, where the "right to free speech" (an ability to express yourself and your own opinion is strongly supported), so what then is your game - you can and may ignore this thread and any other thread/post, that is your right in a nominally free society...

May I suggest you return your head into the pile of sand so your own precious perception of the world is not changed, or read on, understand what is so important, to Gamage, that he offers reading and other informative links about a dire situation in his region of the world.

This is an international forum and America is not the centre of the world and because of your national debt (government and citizens) will steadily become less and less important and influential - it behoves all to become more understanding and accepting of others points of view and endeavour to understand and see things from their perspective. The moral platform is not solely with the USA...
