I currently have a C120 chartplotter/radar. I am about to purchase a new X-5 Wheel Pilot (autopilot). I would like the 2 units to talk to each other, but don't think I want to have the chartplotter drive the boat via the autopilot. From looking at the manuals online it looks like I have a choice, either connect them via a "Seatalk" cable or via NMEA cables. Sent RM Customer service a note, got a "canned response" back that doesn't make sense to me. What is the best way to hook the 2 systems together? Can someone tell me in simple english?
